St Martin's Church in the grounds of Houghton Hall is the burial place of Robert Walpole - 1st Earl of Orford - credited as being the first prime minister of Great Britain. Until 1742 he was known as Sir Robert Walpole. The church is within the grounds of Houghton Hall - the birthplace of Robert Walpole.
