High Resolution photographs of Churches and other places of worship in the World

Old and contemporary photographs of the World's Churches and other places of Worship in high resolution.

England, Cumbria, Carlisle Cathedral

This website was designed purely for the reason of displaying high resolution photographs of the world's places of worship. I am not going to differentiate between religion, or the era of the photographs, and there will be - hopefully with your help - photos of Churches, Chapels, Mosques, Synagogues, Temples, Viharas, Mandirs, Meeting houses, Jinjas, Pathis, Wats, Gurdwaras, Bahá'í's, Kingdom Halls, and any other religions places of worship.

For the simple purpose of writing this website I will refer to all places of worship as simply 'churches'. Hopefully many will enjoy viewing the older photographs - for purely nostalgic reasons, or even for researching their family history, but I will also display present day pictures of churches - and will welcome any high resolution photographs that you care to submit.

On this website we will be as we should be - every religion in harmony with each other.

I already have thousands of old images of churches and other places of worship, so I am confident that given time this site will become a one stop photographic archive that will be of interest to researchers, or those that just like to look at photographs with a peaceful theme. It would be nice if it ultimately became a site of photographic reference and a unique internet resource.

Because I am from the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the images will be predominantly from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, but I hope you will send in many pictures from your country as well. With your help - and with the help of whoever you concieve to be the 'One' above us all - this site will become the finest photographic archives of places to worship on the internet.

As this site is a fairly new one I began by uploading the English places of worship pages, and so far - alphabetically - I have finished up to and including Staffordshire. When England is uploaded, I will continue with Scotland, Ireland and Wales, and then the other countries.

The easiest way to navigate the site or to find what you are looking for is via the grey search box at the upper part of this page.

With the marriage of Prince William of Wales to Miss Kate Middleton on the 29th April 2011 - for which I offer my heart felt congratulations - I have been reminded of the glory of love, the sanctity of marriage, and the importance of religion. I hope that William and Catherine will enjoy a long and happy life together, in peace and in love, and that they be blessed with children - which is everything that anyone could wish for.

If you have any pictures of any religious building in any country, then please scan them in at a high resolution, but at least 1280 pixels width, and email them to me here.

Not just a photo of the outside of your place of worship, but also of the people that use it, and the inside, and even of the graveyard, and of the interesting tombstones.

In addition, if you want to tell us about your special place, then we will display your story, so as every visitor may learn and appreciate what your place of worship is about.
