Herefordshire, Hereford Cathedral - 16th century Bishops Tomb Herefordshire, Hereford Cathedral - Altar and Icons
|
Churches of the World High resolution old and contemporary photographs of Churches and other places of Worship in Hereford in the county of Herefordshire in England, part of the United Kingdom. Herefordshire, Hereford Cathedral - South View The has been a Cathedral in this area since ad 542, although the present building dates from the 11th century. The Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Mary and Saint Ethelbert. Although the Cathedral is located close to the banks of the River Wye it was once even closer. It is now built on the site of a Saxon Market. There is a friendly and 'alive' feel to the Cathedral, not least because of the young students that sit in the grounds around the outside. There is a feeling of 'at home' about the place, unique in all the places of worship I have visited. Hereford Page II>>>>Herefordshire Page
Not just a photo of the outside of your place of worship, but also of the people that use it, and the inside, and even of the graveyard, and of the interesting tombstones. In addition, if you want to tell us about your special place, then we will display your story, so as every visitor may learn and appreciate what your place of worship is about.
