It is remarkable to find a Church of such quality in such a rural setting.

The oldest part of the exisitng Church - Capel Beuno Chapel - stands on an ancient site where there has been a religious building since the first half of the 7th century - reputedly built by Saint Beuno.

Found nearby - and now kept in Capel Beuno - is a 7th to 9th century stone with a cross carved on it. This was either a parish boundary marker, or more likely a prayer stone. Prayer stones were set at the roadside and passers by would recite a roasry before carrying on their journey.

If you have any pictures of any religious building in any country, then please scan them in at a high resolution, but at least 1280 pixels width, and email them to me here.

Not just a photo of the outside of your place of worship, but also of the people that use it, and the inside, and even of the graveyard, and of the interesting tombstones.

In addition, if you want to tell us about your special place, then we will display your story, so as every visitor may learn and appreciate what your place of worship is about.
