Anglesey, Newborough, Llanbedr, St Peter's Church - South View Newborough was known as Rhosyr up till the 14th century, and Rhosfair before that. In the late 1990`s a mediaeval Welsh court of Llewellyn the Last was discovered here, known as Llys Rhosyr. The place was named Newborough in the time of Edward I, who evicted the entire town of Llanfaes to enable Beaumaris to become the chief town, and re-housed them here - hence the name Newborough.
