Churches of the World High resolution old and contemporary photographs of Churches and other places of Worship in Llanwenllwyfo in the county of Anglesey (Sir Fôn) in North Wales, part of the United Kingdom. Anglesey, Llanwenllwyfo, St Gwenllwyfo's Church - August 2008 One of Anglesey's most beautiful churches with a lovely spire. Llanwenllwyfo has close connections to the shipwreck of the Royal Charter, with some of the victims being buried here, and also the Reverend Hugh Robert Hughes, the brother of the Reverend Stephen Rhoose Hughes of Llanallgo. Together the two brothers were fundamental to the identification of many of the victims, notwithstanding the fact that they were also the ones who comforted the many bereaved. This was also the Neave family church - sadly, on the 30th March 1979 the Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary Airey Neave was killed in a car bomb explosion. The conservative M.P. had a house close to the church.
