Churches of the World High resolution old and contemporary photographs of Churches and other places of Worship in Llangaffo in the county of Anglesey (Sir Fôn) in North Wales, part of the United Kingdom. Anglesey, Llangaffo, St Caffo's Church - from the South West Although the present Llangaffo Church - dedicated to St Caffo - was only built in 1845, it replaced a much earlier church which was situated just yards away, where the 'preaching stone' now stands. There are several antiquities, including a number of cross-incised stones - apparently indicative of there having been a monastery in the area. Within the church there is an absence of mounted memorials, but plastered into the wall of the vestry is a 6th or 7th century inscribed stone, said to be written in a very early welsh language. Anglesey, Llangaffo, St Caffo's Church - inscribed stone - bearing a very early example of the welsh language
