The above gravestone with all mens fate reads:-

Pray stop your foot and cast an eye,
As you are, so once was I.
As I am, so must you be,
Prepare in time to follow me.

Bodedern is one of the most ancient holy places on Anglesey. The 5th century Eglwys Edern (St Edern's Church) was excavated on a hill in Bodedern, and many christian grave burials were found. Most were cist burials, and at least one was a lintel burial. The lintel turned out to be an engraved stone, which is now housed within the present day Church.
